A future where the chains of generational poverty are broken, and children once bound by need are set free to grow and thrive — firmly established in God’s love.
We are moving forward in bold faith to build our first Community Center in Cúcuta, Colombia — a place where more than 100 children will have the opportunity to learn, grow, and flourish as we bring our model to life for the first time.
We’ve acquired most of the land we need and are now working with a Colombian architect on planning and designing the space.
A small group of the children we serve thanking the Lord for the land He’s already provided!
At Blooms & Root, we’re cultivating change that grows from the inside out — beginning with faith, then expanding to health, learning, family, and long-term opportunity.
Our five-pillar model is designed to grow in harmony — each one reinforcing the others to create lasting change.
-
Helping children encounter God’s love, build their identity in Christ, and grow through mentorship and discipleship that shape lifelong character. - Faith is not an add-on, it is at the CORE of everything we do.
-
Providing reliable, nourishing meals and essential health support that strengthen focus, energy, and emotional well-being.
-
From tutoring and literacy support to sports, arts, and life skills, we expand knowledge, creativity, and confidence. Learning opens doors.
-
We equip parents, caregivers, and local pastors with training and faith-based guidance — creating networks of safety, stability, and belonging around every child.
-
We create pathways for skill development, small enterprise, and sustainable income — helping families build resilience that lasts for generations.
What’s Happening Now
Before our first community center even breaks ground, we're planting small seeds in faith — and already seeing God begin something special in the hearts of the children we serve.
This work is carried forward by a faithful local church in Cúcuta — their volunteers run the kitchen — in partnership with Antioch, a small church mainly formed by college students in Baton Rouge and a handful of families and friends who've said yes to this vision. Together, we're showing up with what we have and trusting God to multiply it.
Here's what's already happening:
Meals that nourish. Around 70 children gather twice a week for warm meals — 140 meals weekly in a borrowed space with unfinished brick walls, no bathroom, and few seats. Kids take turns eating indoors and out, yet joy fills the air as they share food, laughter, and belonging.
Camps that expand horizons. We've hosted two annual camps outside the city with visiting church teams — giving kids a rare chance to rest, play, and experience God's heart in a beautiful setting.
Christmas that restores dignity. For the past two years, we've provided either new shoes or school supplies so children can start their year with joy and confidence. This December will be our third celebration.
These beginnings are small — but they're full of faith. Imagine what could grow as more churches, families, and individuals say yes to investing and partnering with God in what He's already doing.
